I was very proud of our teams this weekend. Sometimes, it's just not always about winning. It's about being the best you can be and being proud of your accomplishments. (My daughter) came off the floor both days saying she did the best that she could. That's what it's all about. They looked beautiful up there! f. We were competing against some very big gyms and, look at what a dynamo our gym is from Rochester, NH! To even be competitive with them is amazing. Just think of the draw those big teams have. Also, if you don't try and fail, you will never realize your full potential. I think it's good to push them. I just wanted you to know, from this mom's perspective, you are doing a fantastic job with the teams.
As a side note, I was waiting for the elevator with a couple of Junior aged girls from (another gym). I was going down; they were going up. Waiting.... Waiting....The elevator going up finally stopped. The door opened. A senior aged girl said to the girls waiting for the elevator, "The elevator is full." I looked at the girls and said, "That elevator is not full. Do you want to go up?" The girls said to me, "They are on the senior team, they don't like us; they're mean to us. No, we'll wait for the next one." The door closed. I told the girls, "That is not right. The Senior girls on our team help the Junior girls". The one girl said, "That will never happen on our team." Again, very proud of how our teams treat each other and another example of how they stand out in the crowd.
Also, while watching warm ups, our team stood out again. On Sunday, the Seniors took a water break before hitting the warm up mats. About 10 girls walked 2 by 2 in a line and then there were about 8 girls in a group walking behind them. They looked disciplined and respectful toward eachother. They looked serious and happy at the same time. They just seem to behave with dignity and respect. Anyway, it's just really cool to watch them when they aren't even performing and still be just as proud of them.
So, no, it's not always about getting a 1st place trophy.
Well, that's my view of the world. Our team is hot both inside and out.

A month ago I started researching the different gyms around to get Kristen enrolled in a tumbling class. I am afraid that if she doesn't get some basic skills down...she won't make the high school team next year. That would break her heart. With this level.... Little red...you make the team regardless of skill....on a higher level....so many girls try out and they can only take so many. A lot of girls don't make the team.
After much research, I choose the Prime Time Gym.
Prime Time is offering their first ever Satellite Team.....it is a Non Travel half year Team. So it runs opposite of Little Red and the High School Team.
I brought Kristen there last night to a Tumble Class. It was an amazing experience. The gym is great....very clean....friendly....and the equipment they have for these kids to learn gymnastics safely is incredible. I was blown away.
I was watching videos of the Prime Time competitions....I was speechless. They are very very good.
A lot of the girls would love to be on the full year Prime Time team....we have talked about it at practice. Money is very tight these days and a lot of families just don't have that extra kind of money. I wouldn't be able to afford both girls to be on a traveling team....I wish I could though...
So Ron and Val have made it possible to stay close to home yet get the All Star experience.
Check out the info for the Satellite Team.
They are offering one free tumble class....so have the kids go check it out. With the proper tumbling instruction....they could all learn a lot very quickly.
I recommend Prime Time to you all....they work with Little Red and the rest of the seasonal sports. I was impressed by the atmosphere....I think I maybe more excited then Kris!
